Wellingborough Eco Group Community Allotment Tree Nursery

A Tree Hub is a crucial link between harvesting and planting locations. More Trees Now collects the trees and shrubs from different harvest days together in a Tree Hub, this is where they are looked after and later distributed before the winter is over. Tree Hubs come in all different shapes and sizes! Whether it is a community garden that switches from vegetables to trees in wintertime, a front yard, or a 1-acre garden, each consists of trenches where you store the bundles of rescued saplings together. Check out all the Tree Hubs below, or register one of your own!

About Us

Our Tree Nursery offers trees to local community groups and councils for free and is a space to plant saplings saved. We set up our Tree Nursery on our Community Allotment (see facebook.com/groups/communityallotment) at Ladywell Allotments in March 2018, when we were given 28 whips to look after. Additional trees of various varieties were donated in 2018/19, including a few self seeded oaks and sycamores. In June 2021, we added a few bee hives in this area, and planted 30 oaks from Extinction Rebellion Rewilding around them and a further 20 in the Community Allotment. In November 2021, we added 105 whips to A new space created for our Tree Nursery. Since then we have re-homed most of the mature trees and inspired by More Trees Now we have asked people to become 'Sapling Savers' as part of our Nature Rangers group (see facebook.com/groups/natureranger). Community Allotment Working Parties and Nature Rangers Free Ranges take place on Mondays 10-2, let's see what we can do.
