Sweet Cherry
General characteristics of a Sweet Cherry
The sweet cherry blooms profusely in April and May with the flowers arranged in groups at the tops of the twigs. Many animals benefit from cherries as a food source, and they are also edible for humans. A cherry tree is a great addition to a food forest or backyard garden. Young leaves are a light green color; as they get older they turn dark green. The leaves of the sweet cherry also give off nectar, keeping the plant attractive to insects after flowering.
Beware: the cherry seeds are poisonous to dogs. For horses, they are edible but in moderation.
Characteristics
How to plant a Sweet Cherry
Roots at least 10 cm below the ground.
How to harvest a Sweet Cherry
The pits found in the cherries cause the tree to sow up
Caring for and pruning your Sweet Cherry
It is important to keep the tree in good shape. Annual pruning is therefore recommended but do not do it in the winter.

Reproduction rate
1. Very low reproduction rate. The plant hardly spreads, has few seeds or vegetative spread (e.g., trees with heavy seeds).
2. Low reproduction rate. Spread via limited seed production or specific conditions required
3. Average reproduction rate. Regular spread, depending on wind, water, or animals, at a moderate speed (e.g., dandelion).
4. High reproduction rate. Many seeds and multiple spread strategies (wind, birds, vegetative). Quickly colonizes open spaces
5. Very high reproduction rate. Invasive species that spread explosively over large distances (e.g., Japanese knotweed).
