East Hunsbury - Grangewood Park

More Trees Now rescues young trees from places where they can't grow big. We give these away for free to plant at numerous green initiatives, gardens, food forests and farmers. Will you also help us for a day? No green knowledge required, just enthusiasm! Then sign up right away for one of the fun transplanting days.

Location

Description

The Event is a volunteer harvest of small trees in Grangewood Park East Hunsbury.  Bring along a spade and rescue small trees growing in the shade that over time will die if not moved.  We will then store these trees in a Tree Hub to then distribute on a future day giving them away for other peoples woodland and hedge row tree projects.  All welcome to learn how to harvest and how to store trees.

The event is being held in Partnership with East Hunsbury Parish Council,  Climate Action - West Northamptonshire, Northamptonshire Woodland Community Volunteers.

Practical

The harvest will happen at the  southern end of Grangewood Park near to Lapwing Close.  Parking is however best at Hunsbury Library.  We will gather outside the library at 10am on Saturday 26 October and walk to the harvest site.  Please bring a spade.  Trench spades are best as they have a longer blade but any garden spade will work.  There are 25 volunteer spaces allocated for the event.  Please register so that we know you are coming.  Children and families are welcome.

If you arrive later then the actual harvest location in the Park is ref what3words - Parks, impose, starts
