Description
The handout is a free giveaway of trees for your own tree planting project. Anyone can collect. I would ask if you require a large amount of trees, that you chose a time slop later in the day so that people with smaller requirements can take theirs first.
The Tree hub can be accessed via Lapwing Close, East Hunsbury, Northampton NN4 0RT
reg What3words ///best.clock.pies.
AT the end of the close are a number of limited parking spaces. Go though the gate at the end and the hub is in the green space.
More Trees Now saves excess saplings for a second chance. Each tree produces hundreds of seedlings every year. Most of these do not survive. By scooping these out together and giving them away for free to citizens, farmers, food forests and charity/volunteer groups who want to plant, we can make the Northampton greener faster with the help of volunteers. Since 2020 More Trees Now in the Netherlands transplanted more than two million trees and shrubs using this methodology of harvesting and free distribution.
The trees bare root and are approximately between 30 and 200 cm. (1 to 6ft) A small number of seedlings simply fit in the bicycle bag but the larger trees need some planning dependent on numbers required.
For volunteers: We need help to hand out all these beautiful trees! Will you come and help us? Please register via the button:
We usually start preparations a little earlier, so you will hear the exact start time from the organizer.

Practical
Bring a sheet or bag to keep your car clean. It is also advisable to take an old towel with you and a bottle of water, so that you can dampen the towel and place it over the tree roots. This way you protect your new trees during transport! At home, stick it directly in the ground, dig into a trenck and cover with soil if not planting immediately. Alternatively if not too long before planting put them in a container with water to prevent it from drying out.
Trees are registered in the tree planner. To organize this conveniently, you need to register for a time slot on the distribution day. You will then receive a QR code in your app. When receiving the Trees, we scan the QR code and the seedlings are registered.
If you require a large amount of trees (i.e. all of the remaining trees in our hub) please come along on the last slot on our distribution day to collect to give others a chance to pick some first.
Thanks
How nice of you to help me!
