Martin Moore Woods
More Trees Now saves underprivileged seedlings for a second chance. Each tree produces hundreds of seedlings every year. Most of these do not survive. By scooping these out together and giving them away for free to citizens, farmers, food forests and outdoorsy people who want to plant, we can make the UK greener faster and more fun! Since 2020 we have transplanted more than a million trees in the Netherlands, will you join us?
The harvested trees are between 90 and 180 cm. We harvested -
- hazel 36, (of which 21 remain to distribute)
- Elder 8,
- Dog Wood 17,
- Alder 8, ( already distributed)
- spindle 1, (already distributed)
- oak saplings 250,
- oaks 5, (one remaining)
- Cherry 10,
- Hawthorne 2,
- mixed 7
total 344 trees
The 250 oak saplings are 20cm high and these would simply fit in the bicycle bag!
For volunteers: We need help to hand out all these beautiful trees! Will you come and help us? Register via the button: We usually start preparations a little earlier. The event is 10 till 12 on 3 Feb so please arrive by 9.45 if you want to help with the distribution.

Practical
3 Feb 2024 - Distribution Day 3 Feb 10 till 12
Bring a tarp or plastics bag to keep your car clean. It is also advisable to take an old towel with you and a bottle of water, so that you can dampen the towel and place it over the (dry) root. This way you protect your trees during transport! At home, stick it directly in the ground or a container with water to prevent it from drying out.
Trees will be registered in the tree planner. To organize this conveniently, you need to register for a time slot on the distribution day. You will then receive a QR code in your app. When receiving the seedlings, we scan the QR code and the seedlings are registered.
