Presentation on Transplantation method Course day

The team from Meer Bomen Nu (More Trees Now) Netherlands will give a lecture and interactive workshop on how they developed the transplantation method in the Netherlands. 

The transplantation method uses saplings, cuttings and shrubs from trees and bushes that grow in places where they cannot mature, and transplants them to places where they can. This planting material is a source of free, sustainable and often native trees. In a time when tree-planting is so urgent, to halt cimate change and save for biodiversity restoration, using the exponential strength of nature to create more green areas is a welcome innovation. It creates a win-win for foresters and location managers who need to remove such saplings to maintain their landscape type, and for tree planting initatives for this free, native source of trees. A harvest day - where one collects the seedlings - is an educational and fun!

To ensure its succes, the Dutch team developed several tools; to advice people who want to plant, and online tool to register and guide the flow and distribution of trees (treeplanner) and an app. All these facets will to discussed in the presentation, with the goal that anyone can start tomorrow with (trans)planting trees.
